The Renewable Energy and Sustainable Construction (RESCO) master programme is a two-year joint degree funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme.
It brings together leading European universities to deliver a multidisciplinary curriculum that bridges renewable energy technologies and sustainable building design.
This innovative program aims to train future experts capable of meeting the energy and environmental challenges of the 21st century.
The RESCO Erasmus Mundus pursues several strategic objectives:
The RESCO program combines the disciplines of civil engineering and industrial engineering for a new approach to sustainable construction and the use of renewable energies.
Through this innovative training program, students will acquire a solid foundation in civil engineering, deepen their knowledge of sustainable construction and renewable energies, and then develop practical skills in a laboratory or industrial setting.
in BME Hungary: Fundamentals of civil and structural engineering.
RESCO seminar (INSA Rouen Normandie)
In UDC-UMinho: Sustainable construction and energy efficiency.
in Le Havre Normandy University, co-accredited with INSA Rouen: specialization in renewable energies and civil engineering.
RESCO seminar (INSA Rouen Normandie)
4- to 6-month internship in Europe or around the world, in a laboratory, company, or NGO, followed by the writing and defense of a dissertation.
Management: INSA Rouen Normandie.
Toward private industries, PhD, others
INSA Rouen Normandie will serve as a key meeting point for the RESCO consortium. Although students will not reside on this campus, they will travel to Rouen for several shared academic activities.
INSA Rouen will notably host:
These seminars include academic exchanges, meetings with professionals, and consortium-wide discussions.
Students will also participate in additional joint events organised at INSA Rouen (workshops, conferences, networking sessions) and will have access to the school’s facilities during their visits. Although the students are based in Le Havre during the third semester, travel to Rouen is easy and convenient, with the two cities located just one hour apart by train.
Upon completion of the RESCO programme, students will be awarded four master’s degrees from four different European countries, including one jointly accredited degree from Université Le Havre Normandie (ULHN) and INSA Rouen Normandie.
The awarded diplomas are:
In addition, all RESCO graduates will receive a single joint diploma supplement, listing all completed courses with their respective ECTS credits and dates of completion.
This joint supplement ensures full transparency of the academic pathway and facilitates the international recognition of the RESCO qualification, both for professional opportunities and further academic pursuits.
Graduates of the RESCO programme are highly qualified professionals equipped to contribute to the regional, national, and international advancement of renewable energy and sustainable construction.
This two-year master’s degree aims to train engineering technologists capable of taking leadership roles in addressing global sustainability challenges.
Most RESCO graduates are expected to pursue careers in industry or within public institutions and government services. Those wishing to continue in academia will be strongly encouraged to engage in original research at the PhD level.
